Fraxel™ Laser Treatment

How Fraxel Works Fraxel™ is a newer laser for treating aging, sun damage and scars. The Fraxel laser treats only a fraction of your skin at a time with thousands of microscopic columns of treatment, known as MicroThermal Zones. For every microthermal zone the laser targets and treats intensively, it leaves the surrounding tissue unaffected and intact. This “fractional” treatment allows the skin to heal much faster than if the entire area were treated at once.

The Fraxel process uses the body’s natural healing process to create new healthy tissue to repair skin imperfections. Multiple treatments can dramatically reduce fine lines, scars, brown spots and improve the overall appearance of the skin. After the Fraxel treatment, patients feel a difference in their skin, as it gradually becomes softer, smoother and fresher. In many patients, Fraxel can replace the need for laser skin resurfacing.
