CoolSculpting® is an exciting new technology available here at Silverberg Surgical and Medical Group that can be used to reduce excess fat without surgery or downtime. With clinically demonstrated results and FDA-approval, CoolSculpting® helps address stubborn pockets of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. Depending on each patient’s unique needs, it can be used in numerous areas of the body, including:
- Lower and upper abdomen
- Love handles
- Back and/or bra fat
- Inner and outer thighs
- Banana roll
We have the new CoolAdvantage™ Applicator which offers:
- Shorter Treatment Time: treatment cycles are 35 minutes, cutting treatment time by almost half.
- Greater Comfort: more comfortable treatment with the enhanced cup design.
- More tissue treated: the new design provides a larger cooling area.
Using a process known as cryolipolysis, CoolSculpting® works by applying a cooling technology that only targets fat cells. Because adipose cells (fat cells) crystallize at warmer temperatures than normal cells, the CoolSculpting® procedure uses a specially designated cold temperature to trigger the destruction of the fat cells. Without harmfully impacting other tissue, skin, muscle, and nerves, the CoolSculpting® procedure works to shrink and destroy the excess fat cells, which are then filtered out through the body’s natural elimination process.
Patients are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing during their visit, and bring something to read or watch (such as a book or an iPad). Sessions often take 35 minutes to complete; however, this is dependent on the number of areas being addressed. Immediately following a CoolSculpting® session, patients can experience redness and firmness of the skin, tingling, numbness, and/or mild bruising. These symptoms are often temporary and should fade within a few days.
